Tauba tera jalwa, Tauba tera pyaar...

Okay, this song is from one of my favorite movies. It's the only contemporary remake of Devdas - DEV D. This song stars Abhay Deol and Mahi Gill.

Listen to the amusing lyrics and start dancing to music played by a traditional brass band.  Brass bands that play hindi music are hard to come across, but it would definitely be a unique addition to the baraat.

Only a few clips from the song, but you can see that Mahi is wearing a traditional red lehenga choli with gold jewelry (including a longer gold mala).

Chunariyas, Dupattas Galore!

DOUBLE dose of LAL Mirchi! These songs feature Priyanka Chopra in her two very beautiful bridal lehengas. What is it with Priyanka and lal dupattas?! In God Tussi Great Ho, she dances to "Lal Chunariya," which reminds me of the song "Lal Dupatta" from Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. Strangely enough, she dances with Salman Khan in both of these songs! Coincidence? Which song do you like better?

Now, we'll go back to the song "Lal Dupatta" from the movie Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. So many great decoration inspirations for the wedding and reception along with multiple bridal outifts. Take a look yourself!

Om Mangalam

Here's a song from the action-packed, glitzy glam Bollywood film Kambakkt Ishq starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. An catchy song, but a bit ridiculous:

Serial Offender!

Here's a bride from a Hindi TV serial called "Chittod Ki Rani." Her jewelry is reminiscent of Jodhaa's kundan from the film Jodhaa-Akbar.

Gujarati Glamor!

I got extremely excited when I saw this song from the movie Life Partner. There is TONS of inspiration here -- from wedding decor to chaniya cholis, it's non-stop eye candy! Get your dandiyas ready, you're not going to want to miss this!

"Gunji Aangna Mein Shehnai" from the movie Life Parnter
The song Starring: Genelia D'Souza, Prachi Desai, Fardeen Khan and Tusshar Kapoor

I can't seem to find any stills from this song or any of the outfits that Prachi and Genelia were wearing in this song...please help! Thanks!

Here are some other lehengas that you might fancy!

This red, pink, and gold lehenga is so pretty! The red and pink combination works in this traditional brocade saree. Amrita's sleeveless blouse is an interesting spin on a traditional look. Do you guys like the blouse? I think cap sleeve would be ideal for this bridal piece.

Even though these lehenga choli/chaniya cholis aren't bridal pieces, they still provide great ideas for partywear or even for a Gujarati wedding garba! Often times, it's hard to find a piece light enough for garba/raas. To jazz it up, add some jewelry pieces, and dance away!

Rakhi ka Swayamvar - LOOK BOOK

With top designers like Neeta Lulla, Rakhi Sawant covered herself from head to toe in royal attire throughout her search for her life partner. Here are images from her show "Rakhi ka Swayamvar." Take a LOOK:

Rakhi is guaranteed to bring controversy wherever she goes -- including on her supposed wedding day! All of India knows she's plastic, but she has a heart of gold. This post has some extremely high calorie eye candy overload. Her hair, makeup, jewlery, and bridalwear are completely overdone, but she's an extremely good mannequin. The latest in bridal fashion can be seen all at once on this item girl!

She chooses a more simple look in this early Swayamvar pictures. In the traditional lehenga choli, Rakhi looks like a Rajasthani princess waiting for her prince. She looks much more appropriate in the picture below.
I never thought yellow could look so elegant. Well done, Rakhi!

I'm really liking Rakhi's puffed cap sleeve blouses. They're a unique twist on the original blouse and add elegance and a bit of a Victorian look. The yellow, green, and purplish magenta is a great color combination and a great color scheme for haldi and mehendi events. What do you think? Do you like Rakhi's look?

Aloo Chaat Chat

Okay, so I'm not really going in chronological order, but I'm posting as I come across different songs and bridal attire.

From the movie
Aloo Chat, a traditional punjabi "Boliyaan" song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HffIWoMDm_Y

This song is Starring: Aftab Shivdasani, Aamna Shariff, and Linda Arsenio

Even though Aloo Chaat was a flop, Aamna's eye-catching traditional lehenga choli was an instant HIT! Her jewelry, clothing, and makeup were 10/10 in my book. The bridal attire stuck to the traditional colors of red and green with an uniquely longer, fitted choli. This look is very flattering to most curvy Indian women, and the pattern on the choli is strategically placed to cover any insecurities in the midsection.

Kundan jewelry makes another appearance, and it won't stop yet! It's okay that Aamna is not wearing a necklace because the rest of her outfit is filled with what appears to be zari and embriodery work. I also really like her unique square shaped kundan baju band (armlet).

There's nothing like a full on punjabi sangeet party, is there? Check out the gold and red backdrop with hanging flowers, and what appear to be hanging Moroccan-type lanterns. The perfect decor for a traditional event.

Linda's gold and red lehenga choli was even more traditional. For the traditional brides who prefer to wear one color on their wedding day, this lehenga is simple and elegant and can be complemented with traditional gold family heirlooms.

On the set of Aloo Chaat, the actors pose in their wedding attire. Aftab is looking smashing and would be a handsome groom!
